Immigration Legal Services for Afghan Arrivals (ILSAA)
Since 2022, ILSAA has provided Eligible Afghan Arrivals (EAAs) across the country with the free legal services they need to navigate the U.S. legal immigration system.
Important Update About Contacting ILSAA After 12/13/2024
Since its inception, ILSAA has matched over 10,000 eligible Afghans with legal services. Because ILSAA is funded by the government for a limited time, we are no longer accepting requests for legal services.
Please note that our email address has changed. Messages from existing clients and partners can be sent to us at ILSAAinfo@refugees.org.
If you applied for ILSAA free legal services and have been assigned a lawyer, please reach out to the lawyer directly.
If you applied for ILSAA free legal services prior to September 29, 2024, and are waiting to be assigned a lawyer, a legal representative will reach out to you as soon as possible through the phone number or email you provided. Please make sure your phone is set up to accept voicemail messages.
If you requested services prior to September 29, 2024, and are waiting to be contacted by your assigned lawyer, please be patient. It may take up to 60 days to be matched to a legal service provider.
If you do not have a lawyer and are seeking legal assistance with your immigration status, you can contact your state refugee coordinator's office or visit the Afghan Arrivals page for a list of legal and other resources.
